another cactus

Woke up as a cactus... or should I say I believe I am a cactus... trapped within the body of a human being... other than that, I can't remember... There's got to be clues on who I really was round here...

  • "When I build my first Academy… I’ll have a recording studio inside, a good one. I’m going to have large computers so universes will explode right when each time my students think of playing with the powers they learn and earn… And love shall flow, and light will burst forth. Every thing that’s meant to be together shall be together in my school, and dead things will come to life."

  • PS CS5 Tutorial - Making Clouds with Adjustment Layers and the Brush Engine

Howdy guys, It’s me, Cactus Punch Back in another thrilling tutorial session on how to make clouds using adjustment layers and the brush engine in Photoshop CS5. Your artwork will look pretty much like this:

    .

    .

    .

Okay, let’s begin by clicking on File>New.

    .

    .

    .

A Box will appear, on the Preset dropdown box select Web, and on the Size, select 1024 x 768. Keep everything else in their default values and click OK.

    .

    .

    .

Now you got a blank document. The first thing we’re going to do, We’ll make our sky background using two colors, in other words, we’re going to make a gradient fill. On your layers panel at the bottom right most part of your workspace, click on the Adjustment Layer Button (it looks like a black and white circle) and select the Gradient option.

    .

    .

    .

The first gradient options panel pops out. Click on the gradient thumbnail (as indicated with a red circle), and another options panel will appear.

As you can see, on one end of the gradient blend we got two pointers, same as with the other end. The top Pointers are Sliders where we can edit the Opacity option below the Stops box. the bottom pointers are sliders where we can change the Color. Make sure the opacities for both ends are 100%, and the colors are 3366ff and ccffff respectively. Press Enter twice to return to our Workplace.

    .

    .

    .

On the Tools Panel, Select the Brush tool, And on the Brush Properties panel on the top right, Click on the button that looks like a folder with brushes in it. That’s the Brush Engine We’re Talking about!

    .

    .

    .

Now, we’re in the cloud making part!!! I’ve took a snapshot on the Brush Engine Settings for our Cloud Brush! When you’re done, Change your Brush Size as desired and of course, change the foreground color to White.

    .

    .

    .

    You’ve done it! Congratulations!!!
